There are several types of dental implants. Let’s review some points of each procedure so you can consider the ways to calculate the cost.
Single Tooth Dental Implants Cost
A single tooth implant is a common type of replacement procedure. It is what you think about, when you hear the words “dental implant”. In this process a titanium screw is carefully placed in the jaw, replacing the tooth root. Then, it is allowed to heal and fuse with the jaw bone. Later, a permanent crown is created to match your natural teeth and fitted onto the base. The goal is to end up with an artificial tooth that can last a lifetime. Costs for a single tooth vary and some clinics charge for each portion of the process, office visits, and more. We encourage you to schedule a free consultation and compare our process and pricing. Points of the procedure which will affect cost are:
- Pre-operative & post-operative dental implant care
- Bone graft costs (if necessary)
- Cost of placing the titanium implant (replacing the root)
- Office visit costs
- Creating and placing a healing collar and the permanent implant crown
- Follow-up office visits
Depending on how a clinic plans to bill you, there can be several steps and costs associated with each step. Remember to calculate the total cost of all the steps mentioned. Ask for a detailed quote and ensure that you know the total, maximum amount that the implant will cost. We will be glad to help you understand the cost of each step and help be certain that you know the total cost of the implant procedure, when you visit with us.
Multiple Tooth Cost
Some patients need several teeth replaced and we perform those procedures regularly. A multiple tooth implant is a tooth replacement procedure where more than one titanium base is placed into the jaw bone (replacing the natural root of teeth). Then, a bridge or arch is designed and attached to the implants. In this case, two, three, or more permanent, artificial teeth are created to look, fit, feel and function just like your natural teeth. With these in place, you can eat, smile and talk naturally, without having removable devices (like dentures) clicking and flopping around in your mouth.
- Pre-operative & post-operative dental implant care
- Bone graft costs (if necessary)
- Cost of placing the titanium implant (replacing the root)
- Office visit costs
- Creating and placing a healing collar and the permanent implant crown
- Follow-up office visits
Since you are having multiple teeth replaced, the cost will be more than a single tooth implant and an office visit is necessary, for us to estimate the cost. Some of the specific steps you want to consider and discuss are listed above. Be sure you understand the total cost of the procedure quoted by the clinic. We are glad to help you understand the cost of each step and ensure you know the total cost of a procedure, when you visit us.
Full Hybrid Permanent Denture Cost
Another option for people who have lost all of their upper or lower teeth is a hybrid denture, which is very similar to a dental implant except the entire set of dentures is permanently fastened to six dental implants. Procedures similar to this type are sometimes called “All-On-4” procedures because a full set of upper or lower teeth are permanently fastened to four (4) dental implants. Rather than the “All-On-4” process, we recommend hybrid dentures for several reasons.
First, we prefer hybrid dentures because the “All-On-4” procedure offered by other clinics requires the removal of large amounts of your bone in order to accommodate the implants. We prefer not to remove any more of your bone than is absolutely necessary. Second, the hybrid denture is installed on six (6) implant bases, which can offer more stability and reduce the need to drill deep into your bone. Drilling deep into your bone is required in the “All-On-4” procedure. Third, we prefer hybrid dentures because they are more cost-effective and can result in savings for you. All three of those points are valuable considerations, as you look for the solution that is right for you.
Costs of the full replacements vary based on your individual diagnosis and an office visit is an important part of understanding how much this procedure would cost. We consider the Glidewell Laboratories’ dentures a good choice for some clients, as a full hybrid denture. Read more on Glidewell Dentures. It’s technical, so if you would prefer to give us a call and discuss in person, we will be glad to schedule a visit.
